Sourcing & Labour Standards
At Jaguar Leather Co, we take pride in our commitment to ethical sourcing, responsible labor practices, and environmentally conscious manufacturing. We serve a global audience and uphold the highest standards in our supply chain to ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance with international norms, including those set by the International Labour Organization (ILO), UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and Google Merchant Center (GMC) policies.
Ethical Sourcing of Materials
We are committed to sourcing materials in a way that respects both people and the planet:
• Transparency & Traceability: We work with suppliers who provide full transparency into the sourcing of raw materials, especially leather hides, which are primarily by-products of the food industry.
• Sustainable Practices: We prioritize eco-friendly tanning methods such as vegetable tanning and water-saving processes that minimize environmental impact.
• No Endangered Species: Jaguar Leather Co does not source leather from endangered or threatened species and strictly complies with CITES regulations.
• Certified Tanneries: We partner with tanneries that follow internationally recognized standards for chemical safety and environmental management.
Fair Labor Standards
We hold ourselves and our supply partners accountable to strict labor standards:
• No Child or Forced Labor: We do not allow any form of child labor, forced labor, or human trafficking. All workers must be of legal working age according to local laws.
• Fair Wages: All workers must be paid at least the local minimum wage. Where feasible, we advocate for living wages that meet basic needs.
• Safe Working Conditions: We ensure that manufacturing partners provide a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment, with proper ventilation, fire safety, and access to clean water.
• Freedom of Association: Workers must be allowed to join labor unions or representative organizations without fear of discrimination or retaliation.
• Work Hours & Overtime: Working hours must comply with local laws and international standards. Excessive or mandatory overtime is not permitted.
Supplier Accountability & Audits
We engage with manufacturing facilities in the USA, Pakistan, the UAE, and the UK. All suppliers must:
• Sign and comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct.
• Undergo regular audits (internal and third-party) to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Participate in corrective action plans if any violations are identified.
• Submit to site inspections as part of our continuous monitoring.
Suppliers that fail to meet these expectations may be subject to suspension or termination of partnership.
Environmental Commitment
Jaguar Leather Co actively works to reduce our environmental footprint:
• Recycling & Waste Reduction: We encourage material recycling, efficient resource use, and the reduction of manufacturing waste.
• Eco-Friendly Packaging: We use recyclable and biodegradable packaging materials wherever possible.
• Energy Efficiency: Our partners are encouraged to use renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.
Legal Compliance
We adhere to all applicable local and international laws governing labor rights, trade, and product safety. This includes:
• UK and U.S. labor laws
• GDPR and international data protection standards
• U.S. FTC guidelines on product origin labeling and supply chain disclosures
